You like twins? I like twins. Just not sure about these two…

OP:”New World” by Be Yumi: Fast paced music that certainly matches the action-packed animation sequence.

ED:”Bokura no Jikan” by eufonius: Dull. However claymation visuals are always a big PLUS!

Review: I first want to say that I have no prior knowledge of the first “Futakoi” series. But from what I hear you don’t need it since it’s an “alternate” world from the original… and of course, all the faces that would flash by in the Opening were all new to me. Anyway, after viewing the first episode, I have to say that I wasn’t very much impressed. What I believe was meant to be an “anything-goes” action/comedy series that would attract the masses stops short of being… well funny. I mean, the characters engage in some real attractive head-to-head combat sequences and they all seem to have fun doing it but, what exactly was their initial objective? The comedic style of the show just seemed a little over-simplified as well. Then again, I may be judging a little to prematurely (seeing as this is just the first episode ^^; …) But I would say the highlight of the show was the awesome opening scene with Lulu and Lala, packed with some heavy artillery, attacking some white squid-like tentacle creature and parachuting from a plane just seconds before it explodes. However, in the next scene they just seem to vanish, without any explanation as to who they were or what they’re mission was. Just have to wait till the next ep. I guess… Maybe those who’ve seen the original and are more familiar with the characters could appreciate “Futakoi Alternative” a little more than with someone who’s new to the Ufotable franchise…
