  • The well-known American anime magazine Animerica, has just recently released its final issue. Animerica has been around since the mid-1990s and is probably the oldest of all US anime magazines. I managed to skim through the final issue and it stated that the reason for the magazine’s end is that nowadays, with the advancement of news that can be found on the Internet, book sources like magazines just can’t compete. Back in the 1990s, when anime was still a very small genre, there was hardly any news sources for it. That’s way Animerica was able to thrive and grow very successful. But now that anime has become so much more well-known and popular, the Internet seems to have become the best source for anime news. I guess I am a bit saddened by the end of Animerica, since I’ve been reading it for so many years. But at least we still have New Type, Anime Insider, and other good anime magazines ^_^
  • And speaking of anime magazines, New Type is going to be publishing the new Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days manga in August.
