“And I do swear, That I will bear faith and true allegiance to His Majesty’s daughter, Princess Melissa Seraphy, future Queen of the Makai Realm…”

From those curious enough to want to see the game’s opening title sequence:

“Magical Valentine” by Ohno Marina

Here’s an audio clip of the Makai King’s daughter introducing herself — love it how she refers to herself in the first person “warawa 妾,” an ancient form of “watakushi”:

So her name is Melissa Seraphy, and she originates from UNiSONSHIFT’s 2005 title, “Waga Mama Capriccio“. In August of this year, Good Smile Company released a PVC model of the Princess, complete with a custom display base and stand. Notice the translucent eyes and mouth of her pumpkin skirt.

This exquisitely designed 1:8th scaled beauty, sculpted by Akihide Muraki, is readily available in most stores, and is offered at a reasonable price — just under $45.

As you can see from the photo above, the gigantic pumpkin skirt is removable. Hmm… I’m suddenly reminded of Cardcaptor’s recent blog entry, “Blonde, in Black, and Kick-ass”. That curly blonde hair, the black Halloween-esque wardrobe, her strong and decisive attitude from the game, it’s all there. Even the sheer ロリ erotica — all the characteristics that make up a remarkable character, depending on who you ask. Why am I now reminded of Etna all of a sudden, minus the blonde hair of course. Keh, red heads have always appealed more to my tastes anyway. Like Kohaku (Tsukihime/Melty Blood), Prier (La Pucelle), Tamaki (ToHeart2), … you get the picture.

Any complaints at all so far? Um, there is one major one I have. Apparently, you can’t stand her up without having her pumpkin attached. A true shame really. I would’ve loved to have her displayed without it sometimes. I mean, you should get what you payed for right?

So all and all, another fine GSC purchase that I’m completely satisfied with. Love the expression on her face, the openly cute fang she has, her skull tube top, the bat wings especially — can’t complain about those now can I, the ribbons on her pumpkin skirt, so yeah… basically the whole unique design and overall style.

Be sure to catch the rest of my photo session over at the Gallery — 32 images in all.
