   Apparently, the dance is called the “para para” and existed long before Haruhi, this is just from other forums though, not positive if it’s true.

   As I understand it “para para” is just a type of dance, not any one specific dance.

   So while the Haruhi dance is para para it does not necessarily have anything in common with any other para para dance.

   Surely the hairstyles, movements, and the cat are too much of a coincidence to say “it’s just using the same dance style”?
