OP: “Rettsu! Ohime-sama Dakko” by Eri Kitamura, Kei Shindou, and Mai Kadowaki

KBS GJ!!

No nice boat here. The show actually aired on KBS today. There was even a new OP/ED sequence not shown on the OVA. Course no surprise the whole thing had to be toned down for public broadcast — randosel boxset nao! Nevertheless, it’s a big relief to have one of the most anticipated series of the year finally begin its fall season run — even with all the surrounding controversy.

From the beginning we see twenty-three year old Daisuke Aoki enter an elementary school where he’s expected to teach a third grade classroom. He then finds the room he’s suppose to be at, but inside you can hear kids talking about how the new teacher might be like. He slides the door open only to find that all the girls inside were in the middle of changing their P.E. clothes. After such an embarrassing moment, Daisuke formally introduces himself to his class. With that out of the way he begins to call roll. However he noticed that a girl named Mimi Usa has been absent for quite a long period of time. Next up however was the name “Rin Kokonoe,” a young energetic girl with two large ponytails. She makes her presence know instantly by asking the new sensei such questions as, “do you have a girlfriend?” — what a question to ask. Since he didn’t have one, Rin insisted she become his partner — afterall, he did already see her naked earlier that day :P … The class bursts into a riot and, in her chair, we see Kuro using her cell against Daisuke’s wishes to record the entire incident. Just then Shirai-sensei forcefully opens the door to quiet down the class — she sees Daisuke as a disappointment for not being able to take control of these kids.

While in the faculty room, Daisuke is introduced to Houin-sensei. She feels it must be hard for him to take on a class right away just as he’s transferring in. From here Daisuke used the opportunity to question Mimi Usa’s continuous absence from school. The truth was that it had to do with the former teacher Nakumura leaving. He was emotionally unstable, and he would snap or cry in class. The situation got so bad that in the end he quit teaching altogether.

Outside Daisuke is still wondering about Mimi Usa’s absence as he gazes down into his roll book. From there he notices a black cat which he tries to get its attention. Rin then appears saying how its name is “Nyah” and that she’s been feeding him — he was all malnourished at the time she found him. She also belligerently asked if he was going to drive him off school grounds — since according to her, adults, even though say to always be kind to animals, never hesitate to cause harm to them. Daisuke explains not him because he loves cats — he used to own one named Kotatsu. With that said he reaches out to pet Nyah but ends up being scratched by him. As his finger is in pain, Rin grabs his hand and begins to suck on his finger as a way to stop the bleeding — エロイ♪

Next day we see the kids practice their calligraphy skills — at this point Kuro doesn’t mind calling sensei a lolicon :P … Rin then shows off the pharse she wrote; “nakadashi kibou”. Of course this scene was censored by a spinning “no” logo. Daisuke was in shock to see what she had written and questioned her actions. Rin explained that just writing “hope” would be boring. Then she thought maybe he rather have her “dip his brush” for the first time — implying he was still a virgin. The scene was also censored as you can imagine — but you can still hear the sound effect of her licking the brush. With a blushing Daisuke completely at a loss of words, Kuro turns around and makes a big commotion over how sensei may actually still be a virgin.

As school is out for the day, we see Houin-sensei leaving her classroom — but not without one of the boys saying “pai-pai~” to her. Houin then meets up with Daisuke and asks if he could give her a minute of her time. It was here where she presented a school textbook filled with words like “die,” “quit school,” “go to hell,” etc. Rin witnessed the two.

Inside his class afterschool, Daisuke examines the book and tries to make some sense out of it. Rin then walks in and recites the hateful words written inside. Daisuke then asks why and discovers that she only said to Nakamura-sensei, the former teacher, what he said to Mimi. Basically she claims it’s Nakamura’s fault why Mimi hasn’t been coming to school anymore. Since he was emotionally unstable, he would use abusive words to his students. Words like “too slow!” and “just looking at you pisses me off!” were used directly at Mimi. The whole matter seemed entirely troublesome. Daisuke felt the best thing to do was to contact her parents after. At that moment, Rin begins to slide her panties down to her knees and tells him that it would be bad if she screamed “help me” right now. Just then Kuro opens the door and Rin picks herself up and tells her that she’s been waiting for her all this time. The girls leave and Daisuke is left with one option.

On his way to Mimi’s house, he finds Mimi saddened and a bit shaken from the trauma she endured while Nakamura was teaching her class. While in her room, Daisuke attempted to make her feel that she can trust him by trying to compliment her. He told her how he was impressed by her perfect grades, but those words weren’t enough. From here he told her how he heard from Kokonoe that the previous teacher said some really mean things to her. He understood that by not going to school was the only way she could protect herself from the abuse. Afterwards the two began to talk and a sense of trust and comfort filled her bedroom walls.

Next day Mimi decides to go back to school. She is reunited finally with her best friends Rin and Kuro. But just then the girls notice Nyah was stuck up on a tree. Rin begins to climb it in order to save it from falling. Minutes pass and Kuro is seen running down the hallway to the faculty room to alert Daisuke and the other staff members that Rin is in danger of falling off a tree. Daisuke comes to the scene and tells Rin to come down immediately. Rin however feels she needs to save Nyah because she needs to show it that there are still kind people out there. The branch breaks, Rins falls with Nyah embraced in her arms, and Daisuke is there to break her fall. Flashing scenes of Rin’s mother is quickly thrown at the viewer as Rin is screaming at Daisuke, seeing if he’s alive or not. As Daisuke is knocked unconsciously, he sees images of Rin (also censored) and notices how she’s just like a cat, with bells and two tails.

While in the infirmary, the girls see that their sensei is okay. Rin gives Daisuke a kiss on the head as a thank you after. In the end, all three girls flash their panties at Daisuke — Houin then comes and sees that no one was there waiting for her…
