When it comes down to it, the first 12 episodes focuses on a little girl who's starved for love, and tries going about getting it the wrong way. Yes, she may have a crush on her teacher, but it's really more innocent that the nay-sayers would have you believe.

What really annoyed the censors was not the actual content, but the portayal of the artwork. There has been much worse stories in the past, but as the anime style back then was more primative, they let it slide.

All that's really happening, is manga artists gettin g punished becasue they're GOOD at what they do.

It's the same narrow-minded attitude that leads to the burning of books, and backward communities. What's next? Will sculpures be covered up in museums, and artworks be hidden away?

Honestly. If a guy can cut a cow in half, label it “art” and that get's through the censordship without comment, why the Hell is animation getting shafted every five minutes?

In closing then, it's a story. And a well written one. If you stop to think, and listen, you'll see there's much more to this series than meets the eye, and it's very well laid out to boot.

Kudus to the writers. And Kudos to the artists to brought the story to life so very beautifully.
