ef - a tale of memories ~ Season 2 Announced *UPDATE

According to Moonphase Diary, a second season of ef - a tale of memories, entitled “ef - a tale of melodies,” has been greenlit for production. The news was originally revealed at RONDO ROBE 2008. The staff is generally the same as with the previous season — animation studio SHAFT, director Oonuma Shin, etc. It was also reported that Mizuki and Yuuko will most likely be the main focus. I guess it goes without saying that this new season of ef will cover the stuff the previous one didn’t tackle… like the other characters..?
At least this will keep Minori from going bankrupt. So yes, this is a good news.

I don’t think there’s quite enough awesome-ness in the word awesome to accurately describe the awesome-ocity of this news.
Although, I do worry that this means there are going to be some seriously high standards set for this show a la Clannad (where Kanon hit it big before), but hey, that worked out and Zoku SZS worked for SHAFT … let’s hope for some good stuff.

But I wonder if they are gonna cover Kei and Kyosuke’s story. Since it was supposed to be done in ef~a tale of memories~ but wasn’t. How are they gonna do 4 couples in season 2?
In tale of memories,Hayama Mizuke was a character that appear occasionally and had no specific role, no background of any kind. I think it would be fun to know more about her.
Omg…. I can’t wait! Seeing just the first season was so heart wrenching the drama was so intense I hope that they show more of what happens with “Aso Renji” and “Shindo Chihiro” the roof scene was the most heart breaking thing ever when I first saw it I cried alot…. Can’t wait for more updates on it!
