It was brought to my attention from visitor kdingo that a Hatsune Miku PSP rhythm game from SEGA was announced earlier this week — codenamed “Hatsune Miku Project DIVA” and set for a 2009 release. There was also this SEGA x PIAPRO collaboration announcement. Which can only mean music and other artistic property from the PIAPRO community may be included…
In the game, you’ll have full access to customization features such as room design; a 3D model of Miku who reacts to your choice of décor; various stages to pick from; and a story mode which is a mix of both rhythm and cutscene scenarios.
About a few days ago, SEGA had opened a website relating to the newly announced game. On it there’s a countdown that’ll eventually reach August 31st 00:00:00 AM (JPN Time). When it does it’ll already officially be the 1-year anniversary of the Vocaloid 2 software, as well as Hatsune Miku’s birthday. Hopefully this will also mean the grand opening of the website where we can receive even further detail regarding Project DIVA. Game scans from Famitsu may be found below.
