According to data obtained from Famitsu, the latest game in the franchise, 「Pokemon Platinum」, has sold 967,675 copies in just its first 2 days of release. This would make the title the best single-performing DS game of all-time — a record last held by 「The New Super Mario Bros」. For reference, 「Diamond and Pearl」 combined sold 1.6 million in just 4 days of release — today it has a total of 5.6 million units sold.

Top-selling…I’ve gotta say, I’m impressed that it beat Mario. I already have Diamond so I won’t bother with it, but still, that’s impressive.
