Nintendo’s Japanese Conference – DSi

Unless this has more potential for homebrewers, I’m definately not interested in getting. It’s gonna cost more than a PSP, half the battery life of a DS Lite, and features most people won’t care to use due to flashcarts. The only thing I’m liking is the larger LCD screens, but the screenshots and footage just show a thicker black border around the games in the same resolution.

Also, sucks to be Activision with their next Guitar Hero DS game coming up.

WTF?!?!? And to think I got my NDS-Lite like… 2 weeks ago.

it’s news like this that make me thankful I didn’t buy the DS so soon. Patience is a virtue indeed, and by the time I buy a DS, it’s gonna be this new spunky version :3

Update: Seems like there are indeed two built-in cameras. One found on the exterior of the case (3.0 megapixels), and one found on the interior hinge (0.3 megapixels).

This really sucks for me, Before this news was announced, I thought it’d be cool if DS’s had a camera and an online store. But I then thought that it’d never happen so I bought one last Christmas. :-(

These two demo reels really made up for the awful E3 Nintendo had this year!

No GBA slot, I’m sad =(

It does not looks so bad but I really don’t care much about the camera feature. Furthermore, the lack of a GBA slot makes it even less likely for me to be even interested.

I’m kinda disappointed in the lack of GBA slot.
And the battery life is really disappointing… But still, I’m sick of my old chunky DS, so I’ll be getting this.

It looks like I’m going to have yet another DS lying around.

I knew that the GBA slot would get the axe at some point, so that doesn’t bother me so much. But did the battery life have to take such a hit?

Now I might find myself using that SD card I got for my Wii.

Unless this does things that my DS lite can’t do (IE get me onto a skype chat over the WFC with the browser) then I’m not going to be spending the money on one. I was seriously considering trading in my PSP for a slim because of the Skype capability but the cost just isn’t enough to convince me on that one. The lack of a GBA slot is something that isn’t a huge turnoff for me but I do use it more than I use my clunky old school GBA. So unless the prices go down on it I’m not going to be investing in one.
