The only difference between this and what was initially announced in the February 2007 Newtype is the studio and a slight change in character designs. The only difference between this and the K-G.2 pilot is that the secondary characters have not been re-confirmed yet and some changes seem to have been made to the character personalities also.

That’s true but even so, as mentioned, this looks more like a spin off then the actual sequal, which makes me wonder if we are still getting 2 at all.

We did hear about it a couple of years ago, only at the time it was asread who were replacing Gonzo (and who animated the pilot DVD and touched up the movies).
