“Nanoha ViVid” Manga – 4th Series

Wow. Shina Dark’s artist… that’s something…

This seems to be the point where they start trying very hard to keep the series alive. Some people need to learn when to let a good thing end.

Vivio does make it! I wish they’d animate it though….

just as everyone knew when she appeared, the creation of Vivio was probably their fallback all along to loli roots if the whole military style 30 character thing didn’t work out.

should be interesting to see if the two time lines connect or something.

At least all these manga releases have the potential to serve as source material for new anime projects. Nanoha is certainly becoming, or trying to become, a dynasty work though.

Well, nanoha is love or hate. For most reading this, it’s probably love. Truthfully though, Nanoha’s deviated much from its humble beginnings. Sure, the well choreographed action made it addictive to watch, but truthfully, the story and characters was what compelled me to love the series.

The prevalent theme of friendship and family, was something that it conveyed quite well in season one and two, but was a bit farfetched in season 3 with the way they handled it. That said, I feel the manga is going to need amazing art, or at the very least, a compelling plot.

For some strange reason that I still do not understand to thi day, they still haven’t tried milking their nanoha in her teenage years, or middle school years. I don’t know what in god names compelled them to advance the time line 10 years for strikers, but imo, the school life setting only served to enhance my enjoyment of the show, instead of deter, so it was sad to see them take that aspect away and instead replace it for cheap military jargon and training crap. The magical universe is only magical when it isn’t the norm.

Hopefully, the manga can bring back some the charm of the normal setting which was for the most part lost in StrikerS poorly thought out setting.
