I still cannot forget that day, I spent all year catching all the Blue Pokemon and my friend had caught all the Red versions. All I needed was the ones he had so we planned on meeting the next day for a trading session, turn on the GBPocket and whamo! My game was gone, all those hours of work for naught. eee….I still get chills thinking about it. That's why I'm such a firm believer in backing up any save file if possible.

As for the save battery dying, I had my Emerald version give me a warning that the save battery died. But, I can still play it normally; Do save batteries recharge when you play them? I've always wondered about that.

Well, here's the thing about new Pkmn versions: I cannot expect Nintendo to make another generation of pokemon games. I seriously think that it should stop with Diamond..

No offense, I like the Pokemon games (I've got every game released since red + blue + yellow) but it's getting pretty old. Though, they are keeping pokemon alive by adding more concepts (Wifi communication and the like) but eventually, they'll hit a brick wall and the Pokemon series will have to stop there.

Of course, even if this is a delay for the next set of games with new pokemon to be released, I still have faith that it will be okay. As long as it's okay (doesn't have to be epic), I'll be satisfied. ^^

Eh, I suppose this game will be kind of fun and it does save people the trouble of trying to port over Pokemon from the past via the GB > GBC > GBA > DS method….*2

I miss the days when it was only 151 you needed to catch, no offense I like a lot of the newer ones but it's like every other month a new games comes out and there are more to catch. They don't even give you the time to catch the ones already added. By the time the newer game comes out you feel you have to get it in order to be updated as you'll miss something, which in most cases isn't the truth but you get what I mean. For example Platinum is a waste of money to buy the same game as Diamond & Pearl just for that alternate dimension area. However you miss out on the newer Pokemon added to it. Giratina Origin Form I believe? Also I am a little sick of the alternate form ones like Deyoxs*1, have we lost the will to invent new ideas?

One thing I have wanted for the Pokemon games is the active adapt system, basically it's a DLC service so that when the newer Pokemon come out you could then download to the system a game patch and thus allowing you to get the newer ones but split it up into the different games so that you can keep on trading without having to throw out your game cart for a new one. I mean I realize that as time goes on and newer systems come out that you'll need the newer game carts and such otherwise the game won't play but still it would be great to have a service like that until the next new thing comes out.

*1 Now I'm not saying I don't like Deyox's as it's a cool Pokemon but I'm saying how about making 3 different Pokemon instead of 1 that has different forms.

*2 I mention the GB because Blue, Red & Green along with Yellow were on the original Black & White Gameboy format. Gold, Silver & Crystal were on the Gameboy Color format and the rest were on the GBA and DS. Technically you don't need to send Pokemon from the GB era over to the newer games as most are already there but for some who have completed the games fully and don't want to waste the time catching the same monsters again you can just simply transfer them to the newer games. Also you don't need a Gameboy if you have Gameboy Color or Advanced but still, it's an option if you want to use it.
