Wow, I must have miss-interpreted the ending of the series. That seemed a pretty absolute an ending to me

Sebastians arm got ripped off during his battle with Ash/Angela.
His arm which had the contract! ;D
He couldent have yet taken away Ciels soul.
Id love to know what happens next!!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! A lot of people are like "Oh my god, Ciel's dead!" when Sebastian only LEANED in to take his soul! Not take it completely!

Problem is that it's just a symbol. Even Sebastian said that earlier in the series, or something to that effect. Even though his arm got cut off in the battle with Mangela, he may still have the contract intact. I'm not saying it isn't plausible cause once upon a time I believed that as well, but my friend corrected me on that. either way nobody knows. There are some screen shots or something of modern day and such for the next season so *shrug* who knows.

if you paid attention to what the previews right before the last episode showed you would have realized that they hinted on everything going back to normal.At least thats what it appears to me.

Well they never actually showed him die... Three things could happen
1.) Ciel says something ie." Wait i just remembered something...'
2.) sebastion says something ie " I can't do this" (highly unlikely)
3.) Ciel dies and some other kid has the same thing...

I think its more like Sebastion says he wants to continue being a butler because its amusing and hes gonna say Ceil's wish hasnt been completely granted. thats why at the end he said, "well now, bocc-chan"

exaclty..he's just having waaay to much fun with Ciel to stop now, besides he asmitted in that one episode when he was shackled up in jail he didn't want to eat anymore souls mindlessly anymore and that he only wanted his Bo-chan really.Interesting no?

If you think about it, you can't feel pain in the dream, and Sebastian, Ciel and everyone else all felt pain.

The series ebded with Sebastian telling Ciel "Open your eyes" So obviously, not the ending.... But if it is I'll be very upset and will relieve my pain by eating small children -_-

If it turns out to be a "LOL~ Dream~~~" moment I may boycott....I really hope its not a second season and instead a remake, but thats wishful thinking given the first season(the series) ended only a few months ago...

I'm really looking forward to this, I enjoyed season 1 a lot. It'll be interesting to see what they do next.

I think if it would be a dream it would be very interesting xD I mean it could be like that: Sebastian erased Ciel's memory, because he couldn't kill him.And Ciel though he has forgotten something,and one day he remember Sebastian's face but doesn't know where to find him.And something happens then, and Ciel is dying, and finally sebastian comes to him and Ciel remebres everything....and than my imagination cut's off because I can't imagine what could happen then xD Well it's one of my versions what could happen,maybe it's a bitt banal xD and all movie without Sebastian wouldn't be that cool xD

I read and found Ciel will not be in the second season x'( i'm hoping that that was fake but the people who were at the premiere thing said it indeed was not ciel or sebastian although it is confirmed I heard that Undertaker will be in it aswell as Grell considering they r shinigami and don't age I believe they will probably be the only ones returning if its in the future

Nope, Season two has Ciel in it.
Sebastian had his arm cut off, And the arm that was cut off was the one wit the contract so he coulcn't have stolen Ciels soul.
Plus, Sebastian sad that all he wanted was to be with his Young master.
Either way I cant wait for it too come out, Because the Noah's Ark Circus is supposed to be in season 2.

The anime series didn't show Sebastian actually eating Ciel's soul. Since he's arm was cut off (the arm that has the symbol for their contract) the contract may be invalid

for people who say ciel died it didn't actually show ciel being eaten nor did it say he died so its possible that hes still alive like the contract might have been broked because sebastian loss his arm but I doubt it....You know how ciel wanted revenge from the embarrassment those people caused him so he made a contract with sebastian right,maybe his wish fofr revenge wasnt complete like those angels were just some of the people who caused him pain a embaressment but im not really sure....

well, there are many possible ways they could continue. doesn't have to nessecarily be in the human plane. and 'nobody' brought up a good point. they don't show Ciel being eaten, so they must have something in store for season 2.

I believe Ciel is still alive and Sebastian is messing with him, like when Ciel first suspected when it was time for Sebastian to take his soul and all he did was fix his tie. Maybe now he's trying to steal a kiss and then say "Ah. Not yet." XD That would be funny. [Then Ciel might punch Sebastian's eye out for the prank....]

Ciel might be still in the boat being sailed into London by Sebastian. What he see's might be something he was thinking may happen he could be sleeping on boat right now. Maybe Season 2 will start off with him waking up, but that wouln't explain him finding that ring that his fiance's maid found...He probably will pick up and get off the boat. Its just the fact that if it was in his dream ARGH ya know what i mean. I hope Season 2 is a bit long. at lease 40 or 50 eps...but knowing all what they have to do. I guess it'll be another 20.

It did seem like an ending but you never actually saw Sebastian take Ceil's life so they're are always chances. And when it starts season two Sebastian might fix up Ceils collar or some kinda of evil interrupts making adventure :)

you know the ending can be interpreted in many ways for example sebastian is not seen to eat the soul and also they do not show whether ciel is alive or die u can tell by these facts that it has an ambiguous ending so a second season is to be expected

I'm really looking forward to season 2! Season 1's ending was not a closed ending, we do not know for sure if Ciel was eaten or what. They didn't show it so anything could have happened. It was an open ending and who knows, maybe there was more to be done then just kicking some angel's ass.

It would make sense for Ciel to return to Season 2...as described above..Ciel wasn't considered dead yet, and we didn't actually see his soul being consumed. Plus upon Aberlin's death and in Ciel's dream, Aberlin tells Ciel that he should forsake his title as Queen's loyal dog and forsake his hatred..that Ciel has a chance to have a future. I think Ciel will have a future, and season 2 will show how he grows and becomes independent and probably begin to lose some or all hatred. Perhaps Sebastian is waiting at the right time in order to get a worthy mature soul. And why would the servants be reported as still breathing? There is possibility they're alive and will also be in next season. But poor Pluto...those stupid angels.

The whole Pluto and Angel thing had nothing to do with the manga's storyline. But to be honest, at first I wasn't so down about Pluto dying but then after Ciel ordered Pluto be killed and the servants were crying, I was like WHY?!?!?

The ending seemed very very solid, and I think it was very satisfying. For them to come out with a season two may be corney in a way. Not only because that type of story is great with a solid fairytale ending (with a nightmarish twist), but a second season would mean that everything that had happened in season one was in vain! all the death, the sorrow---all for nothing, just so Ciel could wake up and continue like nothing ever happened? England burned to the ground? Good characters dead? Nuh-uh doesn't sound right to me :-(

When you die you can't be brought back to life, so even if some unknown character killed Ciel, Sebastian can't bring Ciel back to life. I doubt Sebastian would regret eating Ciel's soul and chancese are he didn't even give much of an effort to eat him.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with their being a second season, and honestly I wont watch it if its a remake because over I think Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a piece of crap not worth the film its printed on. To Destinii Haruya if you had watched the anime more closely you would have realized Ciel is 13 by the end of the show. If you remember he had a birthday during the season (which most anime characters have someone where during the first season) so he started off 12 and became 13. Doesn't change the fact that 9 out 10 he definitely didn't have a behind the scenes moment with Elizabeth but I just like facts stated to be true.

well. i read somethings and it said that possibly the second season is going to follow the manga more closely. maybe inculde Noah's Ark Circus and many other things. counting the fact the ending of season 1 didn't show ciel actually dying, they may infact use that as an entrance to another season.

Yeah! I'm so glad there is a second season! Although, the ending to the first was so good/final seeming I didn't really expect it. Since everyone has pretty much said everything already, I thought about just leaving it at that but...I just can't resist adding my reasons why Ciel could still be alive to the pile.
1. In fantasy, if there is no body or if we don't see the character die, a main character who "dies" has about a 85-90% chance of not being dead (or coming back to life, which amounts to the same thing).
2. Sebastian's arm with the contract was severed. I actually did not think of this myself but it makes sense. I don't think it is enough by itself to make be believe Ciel survives, but it fits with everything else.
3. Sebastian said he was going to offer Ciel death, but I didn't hear him make any offer. Also, when looking at Ciel's cinematic record floating by, Sebastian said it was his "life up until now" not "the life you lived". Up until now implies there will be more after. Again, this is shaky evidence and I know it.
4. The creator's know as well as we do that making it all a dream, or moving on to another character is stupid. What's more, they know that we feel it's stupid. If only for the sake of profit they should know that the series can only continue with Ciel. Hopefully. Of course, that's assuming that fan's everywhere feel the same, but I think that it is reasonable to assume that in general people feel this way.

i bet either 1. sebby gone soft and decided to live in the human world with ciel 2. they have not brought shame and humiliation to all those involved or 3. he is not able to take ciel's soul. ciel soul was able to resist against the angel remember.

I can't wait. I wonder what they'll come up with this time. Hope it's as exciting as season one and they'll follow the manga more closely! It is very confusing at times.

HELLS NO! He died before Sebastian killed the angel, rememner? The photo reels coming from his body on his descent to the water. He didn't stay alive to till the count of 10! Sebastian failed! And therefore could not have taken his soul.

Ciel did survive. He let go after the count of 10, And then sebastian pulled him up from the water. He was alive and breathing when Sebby put him on the bench in that one island place.

Well, they could always make the anime version of the manga instead of spinning off into this crazy wierd thing where there is no circus. That'd be so awesome. It'd last for ages. Or, Ciel won't be dead because of some random thing. Eg; Grell's like "LOL no. We need Ciel! Because he attracts attractive men for some strange reason! *revive*". Or he didn't die in the first place. Or, another person makes a contract. Or... Something.

I have a theory. I think it would be interesting if Grell decided to use his awesome Shinagami-ness to keep Ciel alive. I mean, he stated that the death gods can decide if the person should die or not. Am I right? The reason Grell would do such a thing is so he can still have Sebastian around. Heh heh. Yeah, that would be good. Of course, William will probably punish Grell again....I dunno. Can't wait for Season 2.

kuroshitsuji was the best show i'd ever seen, and i've seen MANY. (i actually thought it competed with deathnote- and that's a first for me)
i really hope the make a second season with ciel and sebastianXD

Hey, if you don't mind me saying, this whole season 2 thing is starting to sound like some sort of flook. I mean, we heard fron Understaker's syiuu, and I've checked all the forums, websites, pretty much anything I was able to dig up, but I could not find a release date, preview/traitors, nothing. I really hope they come out with more information soon.

And if they DO have a season 2 (which I really hope they do) it better have Ciel, Sebastian, and I hope the other servants as well. And if it's not in the Victorian Era I will be unable to watch it. It's just not Kuroshitsuji without those elements.

Wikipedia isn't the most reliable site since anyone can edit information, but it says that it should be on January 31st, 2010. So like a month from now.

Well,the manga also advertised the second season and apparently there was a line "Then..Young Master.Open your eyes." That line makes me think that maybe Ciel really IS still sleeping on the boat- And season 2 IS indeed confirmed D: If even the manga advertises it. I don't think Ciel is dead ^^ I read somewhere that both Ciel and Sebby are to be in season 2. As for what will season 2 be like.. Well,lots of people say that it will probably have the circus arc from the manga but personally,I only see it happening if its a remake that follows the manga..cause that bit with Drocell and all the dolls somehow reminds of the circus arc ..the idea is like "taken" from there. But..who knows- All we do know is that it will be released sometime in 2010 -.- so looong ;-;

i watched the trailer(i guess) and i saw tanaka-san is sick coughing and kawaii finny-chan is like saying "hold on tanaka-san"(i don't really know what finny says cause there's no sub but i think looo..) and i saw bard lift mayleane(she dress like a mermaid) and all of them wearing kimno not the europe dress.. and if not mistaken, sebas-chan work at sushi shop with finny.. and i saw sebas-chan seal hand there's too.. and ciel-sama and sebas-chan fight with sebastian using a funny mecha or should i call it robot..? but it's really funny.. lau and lan mao there's too.. so do elizabeth,paula the two indian guys and the guy who kidnapped lizzy..(the guy playing the music london bridge is falling down..and i donno his name..hohoho..) but it's damn funny!! but is it really trailer?? i donno because i haven't watch OVA!! The circus arc is where Ciel and Sebastian have another "mission" and they end up sort of joining the circus, only to find out the tragic truth behind something dark. You should read the manga, it's totally different from the anime and I think it's somewhat better!

Well, the Circus Arc is probably the most awesome arc in the manga so far xD The curly woman is one of the performers in the circus...and the whole thing involves solving a case about kidnapped children ...and i think Sebastian had sex with that woman in order to get information..similar to episode 17 in the anime.. also the circus arc sort of involves puppets and some scenes are similar to the anime which is why I think it somehow wont fit if they decide to animate the circus arc for season 2 o.o.. either way,people say its going to follow an anime-original plot.

I believe that Ciel is not dead and I am sure that Sebastian found a way to not take Ciel's soul. Sort of like how he previously tied Ciel's bow when Ciel first told him to take his soul. Also...IS THIS AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!??!!?? Cause I don't want to be disappointed and also, chances are they wont include the circus thing (in the manga) into the second season. I'm saying this because the angels were the ones Ciel had to get revenge on (I may be wrong) and if not the people who humiliated Ciel could already be dead. The circus could happen but the end of the circus where they kill a bunch of the circus people might not happen, since it seems like the angels took their place, sort of. I am also hoping that the second season isn't too short cause some of the best manga's that turn into anime's seem to be like 20-30 episodes which just pisses me off.

Yeah from what I know. Sebby looks the way he does and has the name he does because Ciel chose them for him. I remember reading (and seein in the tv series) that Sebby actually looks like Ciels father. And we all know where his name came from.

Yeah they don't hate us THAT much. And plus, we all know why he's doing what he's doing. He has to dissapear for a little while and make it look like someone else is the killer in order to clear his master's name.
