The follow-up to SFIV, known as Super Street Fighter IV, was finally confirmed by Capcom earlier this week. So far 3 new characters have been announced as playable; Dee-Jay (Jamaica), T. Hawk (Mexico), and taekwondo newcomer Juri (South Korea). The game promises to add better online features and character tweaks based on community feedback. Capcom also confirmed that this will be released as a standalone disc that won’t be sold at full price. In addition, a special undetermined bonus will be awarded to those who own both SFIV and SSFIV; so they’re advising not to get rid of your old disc just yet. Super Street Fighter IV is slated for release Spring 2010 for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 systems. According to an interview with producer Yoshinori Ono, there will be no arcade version.
