“Highschool of the Dead” – Anime Announced! *UPDATE

According to Moonphase Diary, Sato Daisuke (author) and Satou Shouji’s (illustrator) 「Highschool of the Dead」 manga series will receive an anime adaptation. The announcement originally comes from the March issue of Monthly Dragon Age magazine. The manga will also officially end its one-year hiatus.

[UPDATE 02.06.2010] – Madhouse will be the animation studio behind the project.

[UPDATE 04.08.2010] – The anime will premiere in July 2010.

Two of my favorite things, Anime and Zombies! Been reading the manga lately to get caught up, at some moments I do think an animated version would be better as you don't get the pure reaction from just pictures but who am I kidding, I'll still read and watch this I always do.

i cant believe that the hiatus is finally going to be over. i seriously wanted to know what happened to the crew with that police women now going crazy. Also the anime to be done by madhouse is more hen gracious to the fans of this manga.

This is HORRIBLE. If it becomes and anime they'll take out all the swearing and the partial nudity! The gore will be toned down! The people wont look nearly as good as they do in the manga! It'll have subtitles! Then when it comes to america they'll change it and f it all up! They could turn it into some stupid and ridiculous card game! This is NOT GOOD PEOPLE!

People, this is not good. They'll tone down the violence, the gore, the swearing, the partial nudity! They'll add chibi faces to what was originally a seinen manga! It'll ruin the seriousness! They'll turn it into a comedy! And madhouse's animation from what I've seen is mediocre…at best! Has anyone thought of this!? They'll change the whole story line because its an anime! This is NOT GOOD people!
