｢Saimoe ‘11｣ Group “B” Finals – Block Results

Karlsland über alles in der Welt!… or at least in Block B anyway.
This has been another surprising upset.  First there has been alleged cheating on Biribiri’s votes (and the user claimed he or she helped Saten-san into the Elite Eight last year), smearing the Raildex faction’s record.  Now another veteran has been ejected, and worse yet, she has absolutely no chance left.  Tenshi had shaky preliminary counts, but getting into probably the weakest of the eight blocks kept her drive for an Elite Eight alive until Flying Officer Hartmann crushed it for good.  The 501st JIW has somehow pulled off a miracle, and Erica has avenged her lover’s demise and lives up to her namesake as one of history’s highest scoring aces.  Good luck in the Elite Eight, for you are probably the weakest remaining of the Sweet Sixteen aside from Yunocchi.
Madoka is one of the biggest targets coming into the tournament.  As the star of her show whose stardom isn’t realized until the very end, she may be lower ranked than the other Puella Magi to other people.  After Homura’s demise in round 1, it seems all the Puellae Magi had gotten the message that anyone can die (well, figuratively speaking) and stepped up on votes.
So far, Madoka’s been holding back against weaker competition.  Elsea is not one of these weaker competitors.  She has a chance to sweep away one of the biggest favorites with her broom.  Or run her down with a firetruck.  Or poison her with her cooking.  The recent manga chapters aren’t going to help—she’s nowhere to be found.  Yet as Keima’s right-hand man, or devil, she blasted away all her competitors with ease, knocking out strong fighters Sanya and Run.  This bracket was rightfully hers and Madoka’s, as the results have shown.
It’s a goddess against a demon for this bracket final.  Only one can claim sanctuary and exile the other from the tournament.  My vote and prediction both go to Madoka.
On a side note, this round can turn from the most predictable Elite Eight lineup to the most unpredictable.  This is the first of five consecutive matches featuring an Ume-sensei-created character (all of whom I support).  Let’s see what happens now as controversy has rocked this year’s tournament.

For anyone wondering, apparently there have been allegations of multi-voting. The crack-down was placed before the block finals, and it shows that Mikoto and Tenshi benefited a lot from those illegal votes. It sucks for the fair fans of these characters, as well and Homura and Victorique fans eliminated unfairly. At least it livened up a rather predictable round. I honestly don’t know what to think of this year (as a Madoka fan especially), but I hope Japan learns from this series of unfortunate events and gets rid of their self-imposed separation from foreign voters.

Anime Saimoe should at least make voting simpler like ISML. Understandable why they shun foreign voters but their voting system seems easy to exploit and that just spoils the whole saimoe fun. Also could be why the voter turnout was lower then even the block matches before. Multi Voting just sucks
