According to the official website, an anime adaptation of the joint project between animation studio Sunrise, recording company Lantis, and Dengeki G’s magazine, entitled ｢Love Live! School Idol Project｣ , has been green-lit for production. It will premiere sometime next year.

The project originally launched in 2010. It would feature nine girls who would strive to become as famous as idol groups in order to save their closing school.
