「AquaPazza」 is a 2-on-2 2D fighting game from developer Examu (Arcana Heart). It was released in Japanese arcades in June of last year.

The game is a joint collaboration with publisher Aquaplus and visual novel studio Leaf. AquaPazza is labeled a “Dream Match” in regards to combining dozens of characters from such past VN titles as 「ToHeart 2」, 「Utawarerumono」, and 「Tears to Tiara」.

Late last year, a home console port was announced for the Playstation 3 system. It promises to feature version 2.0 of the game where some new characters would be added to the roster — Oboro, Chizuru, Llyr, and Serika. Veteran characters would be further rebalanced from their 1.5A arcade incarnations. Also added are new stages, music, and modes such as Training, Story, Score Attack, Gallery, and Network. The game is slated for release on June 28th in 3 different versions:

  • Standalone (6,800 yen) – retail disc alone.
  • Limited Edition (7,980 yen) – includes OST and special character cards.
  • RAPBOX (19,800 yen) – includes Hori Real Arcade Pro.V3 SAP arcade stick with custom artwork — plus stickers and a set of character command cards.
  • All preorders of any version will receive a clear file with original design artwork — seen below.

Today Examu released a new trailer for the PS3 home port of AquaPazza on the official website. The song played is the game’s opening theme “Future World” from artist Suara. You may check out the PV below.
