Group B, Day 3 – First Round Match-up(s):
In Group B-3, its looking more like a race between Shirayuki and Shinobu — Ayame’s performance in the Prelims was rather bleak so we’ll have to discount her for now. But do you recall last year when Shirayuki made it to the Group F finals; only to lose to current champion Mami. With that in mind, she seems the likely candidate to put up a fight. However Shinobu has the strength of her faction on her side.
In Group B-7, I always find it most exciting when two veterans confront each another. And right here is the perfect example. Yuno received her 10th Saimoe win last year, while Azusa — former champion (2010), is looking for her 10th win with this opener. Poor Sakurako will be caught in the crossfire.
In Group B-11, its way too close to call. First off, these are second preliminary qualifiers we’re dealing with. Usually the determining factor in predicting the victor is who currently has the stronger faction. Here we have Chihaya versus Yozora — sorry Nazuna but I’m counting you out for now. If this is the case, all money should be placed on Yozora since the Haganai fanbase will be the club to watch out for this year. But hey, what if Nazuna surprised us all with a win by trying to combo with Yuno. Anything can happen.
