26 Oct
Winner: Toki Onjouji.
And then there were 8…
The Quarterfinals have official begun for this year’s Saimoe tournament. Six tenacious representatives from the Saki camp versus two Rie tsunderes yearning for that crown in their final appearance. For the next few days, all eyes will be on these girls who make up the Best 8.
Our first QF matchup of the week is between the newcomer with the strongest potential, Toki, taking on the exceptional veteran with now three quarterfinal arrivals under her belt, Shana. Seeing as how Toki hasn’t once fallen under a 58% winning percentage during the main draw, the odds are clearly in her favor. However Louise has defeated members of Saki in such high profile rivalries before — i.e. Stealth Momo, Hisa. Will there be a major upset to be seen? Or will the moe mahjong force continue to dominate even this far in the contest.
Quarterfinals I – Results:
Congratulations Toki for taking her campaign to the Semifinals! The overwhelming support yesterday allowed the new face in the scene to garner a vote tally of 403; about 151 more votes than her challenger Louise — like with Akarin, the fake voting tactic was in use once again. The crown princess of Tristain can now retire from Saimoe with a fine track record and memorable achievements that would make any fan proud.
Next up is QFII with two experienced mahjong players; Nodoka and Saki. Will be supporting Nodocchi all the way here. Good luck to your picks.
