Earlier this weekend, the 14th official game in the Touhou doujin series, entitled 「Touhou Kishinjou ~ Double Dealing Character」, was announced by developer ZUN. As usual, a demo will be released at the next Reitaisai event, (May 26th) — priced at 300 JPY. Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya (surprisingly) are all confirmed to be playable. No word on when the full version will be available.
According to ZUN’s blog, a lot of the complicated game mechanics from previous installments were removed in order to create what he calls, “neither new nor retro, 2000s neo-retro danmaku shooter.”
The game’s screen resolution has the option to double in size from 640×480 to 1280×960.
On a side note, the full version of the 2D doujin fighter, 「Touhou 13.5 ~ Hopeless Masquerade」, will also be available at Reitaisai 10.
The individual weapons of the three protagonists started acting odd, and meanwhile various youkai began to rebel. It’s their job to either take their weapons in hand and fight the youkai, or to cast their weapons aside.
