FUNimation, from a report at Katsucon, has announced it’s official acquisition of the eroge -> anime series Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.  The Eternity You Desire would be its literal translation in English, but apparently FUNi has decided to use the name Rumbling Hearts as the official name for the domestic release.  Just to clarify, Rumbling Hearts was an alternative name given by the creators of the original game, Âge. So it’s not like FUNi decided to go and make up some bogus name at the last minute >_> … When hearing the news, I was both a little disappointed and a bit relieved. Relieved because my #2 favorite anime series of all-time, (Urusei Yatsura being #1), will finally receive the R1 DVD treatment.  Disappointed because of my growing concern over FUNi’s R1 release schedule and annoying digital overlays, e.g. Fullmetal Alchemist. However, I did love their handling of Yu Yu Hakusho. On their later YYH releases, there were absolutely no digital overlays and the translations were beyond satisfying. Any perfect and it would of been like owning the original R2s. But anyway, here’s to hoping for the best for Kiminozo. I’m also looking forward to their handling of another old favorite, Tsukuyomi Moonphase.
